Fancy Christmas Party

On the chilly night of December 16th some colleagues and I attended the Houston Association of Black Journalist Christmas soiree at Cafe 4212 Jazz Bar and Grill in downtown Houston. The soiree was not only to indulge in a night of chilled cocktails, heavy hors d'œuvres, and sharing interesting moments with other media professionals. It was more to celebrate the season of giving by accepting donations of new toys, gift cards, and small electronics to give to children in need. I enjoyed the vibrant jazz ensemble that greeted me at my entrance. The venue was very vintage inspired with hard wood floors that I loved! The decor yelled Christmas and the vibe was very soothing. I would like to thank Sherea Cary of HABJ for making my colleagues and I feel welcomed. Enjoy the pictures below.

Can a cottage get anymore FANCY?

Often times people become so caught up with their career or school that they forget about themselves. I know sometimes I feel like running far far away. Last night I was watching "The Holiday" starring Cameron Diaz and it made me want to rent a cottage and escape. At that moment I felt like stuffing my luggage, board a flight and head to COLORADO SPRINGS for a delightful four day weekend at The BRO^ADMOOR Cottages. I would silence my BlackBerry so that I will not feel guilty for not responding to emails, and bring my computer for online shopping and blogging. Now I know you're wondering... Why a cottage? I would choose a cottage because you it more of a home feeling than any hotel and it all yours.Remind you that this property also offers luxury five star suites as well, but like I said before exclusivity is FANCY. I chose this property because it is in Colorado, which most people don't often find as "cool" vacation spot. I want to be secluded from the world not included. In Colorado Springs you can enjoy nice long bike rides, local boutiques, rock climbing, tennis, local museums, serenity shower, swimming, golf, or even take a journey on Pike Peaks Cog Railway which could be relaxing. Don't you guys think this is a perfect getaway? This is FANCY because it is a location that could possibly be all about you and what you need to escape. Enjoy the pictures below.

Raise the FANCY Rooftops!

A big part of me enjoys having brunch, lunch, dinner, and soirees. When I choose restaurants to dine at I always check for the vibe, architecture, and interior design. I chose to do a trend report on rooftops because it is the perfect place to have all of the above. I love a nice intimate setting where friends can go dance to some good music, have nice drinks, and make good memories. Rooftops are FANCY because of the exclusivity. Everyone love to be exclusive right? I've always wanted to throw a rooftop soiree, but Houston doesn't have many rooftops to offer. I hope you enjoy the rooftop views below.

Victoria Secret show gets bigger and better every year!

Last night the Victoria Secret Fashion Show aired on television network CBS. I literally rushed home from the office to see this production. The show opened with performance from Katy Perry followed by Akon with his hit song "Angel." I enjoyed them both! The show was filled with glitter, feathers, gaudy props, and male gymnast plus more. One of the most memorable moments of the night was when model Chanel Iman got her FANCY wings. This is an honor for models to get their wings and become a Victoria Secret angel.  Check out video below.

Austin Texas just officially got FANCY!

Austin, Texas has officially been stamped FANCY! The new W Hotel will be opening on December 9, 2010. Since Austin's slogan is "Keep Austin weird" can we now change it to "Keep Austin Fancy?" I look forward to grabbing a cocktail with friends at the W Hotel in Austin when I go visit my friends. The W always offer great vibes and my type of FANCY crowd.
